Development, Sale and Lease Back
Vail Williams acted for Panasonic in connection with the sale and lease back of its major distribution centre in Northampton. As part of the overall transaction the purchaser was required to secure planning for and develop an additional 120,000 sq ft warehouse facility on the site.
The project included a major redesign of the infrastructure (services, car parking, access roads) supporting the existing facility. Vail Williams’ Building Consultancy team were involved with the project from the outset. In conjunction with Panasonic we developed the brief and outline specification for the new facility, worked with Panasonic and their legal team on the development agreement and represented Panasonic’s interests during the detail design and planning phase.
Construction works started on site in February 2008 and Practical Completion was reached by December of that year.
