Landmark Building law firm’s new city home

Vail Williams have recently handled the transaction of a landmark office in the commercial heart of Southampton, the building has a new owner after being sold for £1.7m to one of the South’s largest law firms.
Thomas Eggar LLP picked up the keys to it’s sixth regional office after the exchange of contracts and completion with the previous owner and occupier, rival solicitors, Blake Lapthorn Tarlo Lyons.
A £1m refit is now under way at the 13,500 sq ft Brunswick Place building in readiness for 30 Thomas Eggar staff to move in from September.
The other Thomas Eggar offices are in London, Gatwick, Newbury, Chichester and Worthing.

The commercial law department will be headed up by Richard Purcell whose responsibilities include property finance and property development.
Among his clients are banks, lending institutions and property developers.
Blake Lapthorn Tarlo Lyons have leased a 57,000 sq ft office at Lambert Court, Chandlers Ford.
