Vail Williams LLP Landmark Appointment
06/10/2008
Vail Williams LLP is pleased to announce a landmark appointment to drive forward its growing Building Consultancy service provision. Michael Finn, who has been presented with an MBE for his outstanding contribution to building standards, joins Vail Williams LLP today following 22 years at Drivers Jonas.
Michael was responsible for project management and building surveying activities at Drivers Jonas, setting up the firm’s Facilities Management Division in 1995 before becoming a consultant to the practice in 1999. Michael then went on to run his own niche consultancy service, and currently holds a number of key advisory positions, including Chairman of both the Government’s Building Control Performance Standards Advisory Group and Building Regulations Advisory Committee, as well as President of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, Building Surveying Division from 1989 to 1990.
Michael joined Vail Williams LLP’s Building Consultancy Division on a permanent basis on October 1st with an objective to reinforce the overall service offering and proactively expand the client base.
Michael Finn comments, “Vail Williams LLP has had my respect as an organisation for the last 20 years, and there was no hesitation when it came to making the decision to take the job. It has an incredible client base and culture, and is commercially exceedingly astute. Developing the building consultancy arm is a challenge I look forward to with some relish, as Building Surveyors in a multi-discipline practice tend to have a broader view than those in specialists practices.”
Ian Rudland, CEO Vail Williams LLP comments on the appointment, “This is a truly exciting appointment for the business. Building consultancy is a major focus for Vail Williams LLP, and one that is traditionally resilient during leaner economic times. And who better to accelerate its growth than one of the industry’s most qualified and respected names?”
