A senior surveyor has joined the South Coast agency team at award-winning property consultancy Vail Williams.
Alice Masterman works out of the firm’s Portsmouth and Southampton offices and is responsible for commercial agency work across the region.
Scope of work includes leasehold and freehold acquisition and disposals for occupiers and landlords in in the offices, industrial and retail property sectors.
Prior to her property career, Alice, BSc Hons MSC MRICS, was a member of the British Sailing Team, campaign for four years in the Olympics’ women’s class: the 49er FX skiff.
Alice read her Master’s Degree alongside her sailing career and joined the property world in 2021, having most recently worked for Flude Property Consultants in the South East.

Of the office deals on the South Coast last year, 82% of those in Portsmouth and Southampton were transacted by Vail Williams, with 70% for industrial deals.
Since opening in Bournemouth in 2022, the firm has established a 50% market share in the Bournemouth, Poole and Christchurch (BCP) conurbation across both offices and industrial sectors.
Last year the total value of letting deals acted on by Vail Williams on the South Coast exceeded £8.81m across more than 500,000 sq ft of office, industrial and retail space, with 92 deals.
Alice said: “The long-established Vail Williams agency team on the South Coast are well respected and, as the regional property award shows, have consistently demonstrated proactive consultancy and results for clients. I look forward to helping landlords and occupiers deliver on their property objectives.

Alice is also a member of the PropSail Committee, which organises property networking sailing regattas, and the RICS MATRICS Committee, which is designed to support students, apprentices, trainees and those who are newly qualified as they move into the industry.
