However, a previous planning application made by the client had encountered difficulties as a result of the project being situated on Green Belt land.

Due to Green Belt planning restrictions, there was a need to provide the necessary justification for the project so our team of expert commercial planning consultants was appointed to review and advise upon what was required.

As part of our Corporate Social Responsibility values, we provided initial planning advice on a pro bono basis, working in conjunction with the charity’s architects, Tangram, to review the proposals.

Following a comprehensive review of the initial proposals, alterations were made to the scale and design of the scheme which were supported by a detailed summary of the
applicant’s very special circumstances.

These changes and justification meant that the Council’s Planning Committee found the revised scheme to be compliant with Green Belt policy, and the project was therefore
approved to proceed.

We were delighted to have assisted the client not only to achieve their planning aims, but to have been able to do so on a pro bono basis, with subsequent advice supplied at a considerably reduced rate.
