The opening of the landmark 1000 Lakeside North Harbour building in Portsmouth, has provided a vibrant, new office solution for companies seeking high quality, flexible space in a gateway location.
More than eighty commercial agents from London and the south attended a launch reception, to mark the opening of the development, with guest speaker, former British Lion and England Rugby International, Will Greenwood MBE.
Following a £13.8 million refurbishment programme by owner, Highcross, 1000 Lakeside offers nearly 275,000 sq ft of high quality office accommodation for companies of all sizes. The building has been designed to provide maximum flexibility for businesses, with suites available from 2,000 sq ft to 72,000 sq ft, as well as managed office solutions.
The building's spectacular facelift includes the installation of a new full height glazed atrium, which acts as a striking focal point. Located adjacent to Junction 12 of the M27 at the gateway to Portsmouth, the development is set in extensively landscaped grounds adjacent to IBM's UK headquarters.
Nick Turner, Director of Highcross comments: "With flexible high quality business space at competitive rates, excellent transport links and a prime location, 1000 Lakeside is an appealing option for companies of all sizes, looking for prestigious office space on the South Coast. We are creating a vibrant office community, which is as suitable for small, fast-growing businesses as major plcs."
The high quality, comfort-cooled, four-floor office building overlooks a lake and has almost 1,000 car parking spaces. Each floor provides around 72,000 sq ft of accommodation that is available to let as a whole, or sub-divided to meet requirements.
The building refurbishment also includes new suspended ceilings, LG3 lighting and carpets throughout. Ground floor meeting rooms and conference facilities are connected to the atrium, and negotiations are in progress for a café bar and kiosk for staff.
Joint agents for the scheme are Knight Frank and Vail Williams.
Highcross has now opened a marketing office at the scheme, which is open Monday-Friday. Companies interested in viewing the development can call into the marketing office any time between 10am and 4pm or telephone 02392 389209 to make an appointment.
