Elise Thompson

Elise joined Vail Williams as a Senior Surveyor and is based at our Crawley office where she works in the Valuation team.

She previously specialised in providing financial viability assessments and did this exclusively to public sector clients in her previous role, where she worked for over 40 Boroughs, including 20 London Boroughs.

Elise now undertakes Red Book valuations for a range of purposes, specialising in commercial and residential development land valued for secured lending purposes. She has recently added to her portfolio of development land experience by working part-time in the Gatwick Planning department, assisting on the preparation of pre-application and planning statements. This has given her an appreciation for all parts of the development process, from acquiring a site and gaining planning consent, checking its financial viability, valuing for the loan security, all the way through to the Exit Valuation!

Elise studied for her Masters part-time and dedicated her research project to the proper valuation and appraisal of viability for Build to Rent developments in Greater London, which eventually led to the Course Directors Prize. She is an Ambassador for Lionheart, a charity aiding surveyors in need and their families and has been awarded the Young Surveyor of the Year Award in commercial property. She is an RICS APC assessor and an APC counsellor.

Outside of work, Elise is a bookworm, a volunteer youth leader, and having married into a petrol-head family, is on a journey to discover Formula 1.
