Senior Planner

Location: Gatwick/Surrey

Vail Williams LLP is a leading real estate adviser with more than 170 staff across 12 offices. Continued growth and an ever-expanding client base have created exciting opportunities in our Planning team.

Vacancies have arisen across our Surrey and Gatwick Planning teams for both a Planner and a Senior Planner.  The ideal candidates will join the regional Planning team in either Crawley or Woking.

The successful candidate will have excellent career development opportunities, and be involved in all aspects of Planning, working as part of the larger team and leading your own projects.  Business development skills are desirable as you will be expected to be an ambassador for the company, developing client relationships and delivering a high level of service. An outward thinking candidate is required to assist with the continued growth of Vail Williams.

You will have a proven track record of managing projects across a variety of sectors with excellent regional market knowledge including the wider South East area alongside a good network of contacts. You will have varied experience across sectors including residential, commercial, education and strategic allocations and will be able to demonstrate excellent technical knowledge of Development Management and Policy Planning both in the Public and Private Sector.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be MRTPI / MRICS qualified with PQE experience in planning / development
  • Demonstrate strong commercial acumen both on projects and cross discipline opportunities
  • Be competent and experienced in dealing with a varied workload of multiple projects in a number of locations
  • Have excellent presentation and project delivery skills
  • Be a good team player with the ability to work under own initiative
  • Demonstrate the ability to motivate and manage others in the team to achieve / exceed agreed targets (fee earning & referrals)

Experience of working in a planning consultancy or multi-service property firm would be desirable but not essential.
