Draft 2017 Rating List…an unexpected insight comes early!

Early insights on new 2017 Rating Revaluation assessments were displayed briefly on the Valuation Office Agency website today…before it crashed! For VW’s Thames Valley and Gatwick regional offices – our Business Rates Consultancy team had time to conduct some initial analysis on these draft List figures for two locations within these regions.

As widely expected, the VO is hitting Reading Offices hard from April – with some receiving increases of 80-100% in Rateable Value, even on older stock.

Whereas for offices in Crawley, the VO appears to be inconsistent in their draft 2017 Rateable Values – prime office space seems to have been hit hard with some showing increases of circa 40%, while older stock is generally showing falls from current 2010 Rating List levels.

Clearly, there’s much work to do in reviewing clients’ draft assessments and advising accordingly.
