Corporate responsibility
Delivering a valued contribution to the wider local community
At Vail Williams, we believe that creating a great place to work breeds a positive, supportive and nurturing culture.
Core to achieving this is our approach to corporate responsibility (CSR), which enables us to positively impact the communities in which we operate.
VW Care, as we like to call it, supports our purpose and values, and allows us to put something meaningful back into the communities in which we work.

Our charity partners
We are delighted to have increased our social impact through a recent review and selection of six amazing charities to support across our regions.
These are Bramber Bakehouse in Gatwick, Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity in the Thames Valley, Thomas Ball Children’s Cancer Fund in London, Sophie’s Legacy on the South Coast, Love Brum in the Midlands and North, and The Eikon Charity in Surrey.
Varying in size and focus, our chosen charities are all critical in supporting the vulnerable and sick in our local communities and are each making a huge impact.
Our recent fundraising initiatives have included a gruelling ‘Tour de VW’ cycling challenge traversing our regional office network spanning 325-miles in 2 days; 3 teams competing in an ambitious 561-mile cycling relay through Brittany’s scenic coastline and countryside; as well as various less energetic initiatives such as bake sales, raffles and afternoon teas.
We are proud of our VW volunteering programme which gives our teams the chance to deliver real environmental and social impact. This encompasses direct and practical support to our regional charities, as well as conservation initiatives such as tree planting projects with Andover Trees United and local beach clean events in conjunction with Surfers Against Sewage and the Marine Conservation Society.
Vail Williams’ fundraising and volunteering support is invaluable to Sophie’s Legacy and the families we support. Their contributions help us provide essential items like food, toiletries, and clothing to families in hospitals, as well as offer emotional and financial support to those facing the immense challenges of having a child in hospital.
We rely heavily on the generosity of volunteers, and we simply couldn’t run the charity without their help. We are deeply grateful for their dedication, which allows us to continue Sophie’s Legacy of kindness and provide critical assistance to families when they need it most.

Supporting a sustainable future
We recognise the important responsibility we have in minimising our impact on the environment.
That’s why our regional sustainability champions help us to run a variety of firmwide initiatives to help us operate as efficiently as possible – for the benefit of our clients, our people and the communities in which we operate.
This includes our Grow Green programme with Ripple Africa and Fruitful Office where for every fruit basket our firm consumes, a fruit tree is planted in Malawi – amounting to some 240 trees last year.

Vail Williams’ Net Zero Carbon Commitments
At Vail Williams, we are committed to achieving net zero carbon by 2030. As part of this, we plan to reduce our carbon emissions by 10% year on year, through a variety of means – from the amount and ways in which we travel, to the energy efficiency of the buildings in which we reside – and more!
