A start-up company which designs and builds portable skate ramps has jumped into growth mode with a dedicated production facility in Dorset.

Nanuskate has moved into a 6,260 sq ft unit at Bedrock Park, a 26-unit speculative development of industrial, logistics and trade counters at Vulcan Way, Ferndown Industrial Estate, Wimborne.

Property consultancy Vail Williams acted for the developer, Northwood Urban Logistics, in the 10-year lease deal.

Bryony Thompson, a Vail Williams partner working out of the firm’s Bournemouth office, said: “Nanuskate was searching for a modern industrial unit from which to grow.

“End-of-terrace unit 22, and the industrial park’s strategic location in the BCP conurbation, where 409,000 people live, fitted the company’s requirements.”

She added: “Bedrock Park employs the latest environmentally friendly technologies to reduce the costs of occupation for end users.”

Colin Macandrew is the director of Nanuskate, which was incorporated at Companies House in October 2024.

He said: “We design and manufacture modular skateboard ramp systems — built from high-spec galvanised steel partnered with a professional-level Skatelite riding surface and engineered to last.

“Our ramps are made for schools, councils, event organisers, skate organisations and commercial operators that need high-quality skate infrastructure without permanent installation.

“Being able to pop-up a ramp as required without the need for planning permission is very attractive.

“The system is fully portable — ramps can be transported, assembled, dismantled and redeployed anywhere. Tool-free assembly means a full mini-ramp can be built in as little as 30 minutes.

“Modular components allow setups to grow and adapt, from compact pop-ups to extended technical configurations.

“The innovative modular design is patent pending, reflecting the engineering investment we’ve made in developing a genuinely new approach to portable skate infrastructure.

“Our new facility at Bedrock Park gives us the manufacturing base to serve the UK market and expand into Europe. Skateboarding is growing fast across the continent — and modular, portable infrastructure is the missing piece for schools, events and sports organisations everywhere.”

Occupiers at Bedrock Park include Trade Counter Mate, a supplier of windows, doors and roofing systems to the trade in the south of England, and Reheat Aero, a maintenance, repair and operations and aftermarket provider for aircraft galley equipment and cabin interior products.

Other brands which have moved into the new units are Breeze VW (Ducati), Careco, South Coast Traffic Management, Leader Belting and Grosvenor Carpets.

Five larger warehouse and logistics buildings, units 13 to 17, are all let; occupiers are Bunzl, Look Space, HDM Solar and Glow Green.

Of the 26 brand new light industrial and warehouse units, nine remain available ranging from 2,689 sq ft to 5,965 sq ft

Occupiers also include Anniversary House, a manufacturer and distributor of cake decorations and baking accessories, and Logiscom, a logistics company organising transport, reloading and distribution nationally and internationally.

Vail Williams and Goadsby are joint letting agents of Bedrock Park.

The 187,528 sq ft scheme officially opened nearly three years ago, with occupancy now at 80%.
