Having come across from Trilogie CRE, Roland has extensive national experience, working with clients to deliver the best possible results at both property and portfolio level.

Roland believes that good advice requires a clear understanding of the client’s business.

Recent M&A advice includes due diligence support on a £12M pa rent portfolio, property support for a MBO involving 23 locations, and a number of acquisitions and disposals of significant production facilities including the sale of a 110,000 sq ft operational food production facility to WM Morrison plc. Roland’s particular focus is on identifying and addressing the key property issues and solutions to ensure timely completion of the deal; and rapidly applying a property strategy to suit the business integration.

Key achievements in the property acquisition / relocation sphere include the Build to Suit acquisition of a new 17-acre National Sortation Centre for a parcels operator in Dartford, combined with the exit planning from the current facility. The bespoke nature of the design required an in-depth understanding of construction costs and significantly value-engineering the design, working with the developer’s professional team to minimise the rental capex.

Roland also guides clients with capturing property data, running a timely property strategy to meet business needs, restructuring leases and fighting rent increases. Roland’s acquisition expertise in the big box sector puts him in a unique position at rent review, with successful outcomes recently on 327,000 sq ft and 223,000 sq ft for Mecalac SA and Lear Corporation respectively in Coventry.

Outside of work Roland is an Annual Member at Cheltenham Racecourse, enjoying The Festival in March; an opportunity for true speculative investment! With 3 young children his sailing and sporting activities these days are too often limited to a coaching role.
