As the festive break approaches, we’ve been casting our minds back to what has been quite a year for us here at Vail Williams, which has seen us lucky enough to win or be shortlisted for a number of awards.
We have now won Best Property Service Company at the Surrey Property Awards three years in a row, received an award for our client service at the Thames valley Property Awards, and have been shortlisted for Property and Construction Business of the Year at the West London Business Awards, which will take place in February 2017.
Most recently, however, we were identified as one of the ‘Property Week Best Places to Work in Property’ – just one of 32 firms across the whole of the UK to make this prestigious list, made up of property developers and investors, through to consultants and recruitment companies.
Whilst being shortlisted for and winning awards gives us a warm and fuzzy feeling inside, the most important thing that it highlights is something much more integral to our business – the promotion of strong values, energy and a positive culture within our business and the wider commercial property sector.
This is particularly true when it comes to being voted as ‘best place to work for’ as our own colleagues provided the candid feedback which resulted in this fantastic endorsement of our business.
It makes us very happy to hear such positive feedback as the property sector hasn’t been an easy one in which to work in the post-recession era. And with the prospect of more post-Brexit uncertainty ahead, it is likely to remain an unsettled sector for our clients for some time to come.
As a business operating in this difficult climate, it is important to us that we promote a positive culture – both for the benefit of our staff, but also our clients.
Our core values form an integral part of this, helping us to ensure that we provide a quality service whilst developing bespoke commercial property solutions for our clients’ needs.
But in order to do that, we rely on the motivation, positivity and enthusiasm of our staff. This in turn means that it’s vital that we invest in them, and we do this by promoting equal opportunities and helping to develop leaders of the future.
It sounds obvious doesn’t it! But not every business recognises the value they have in their employees.
We, however, know that our people are our future, and the way that they interact with our clients represents our brand and how we want to be perceived.
That’s why we’re very clear about our values and the energetic and enthusiastic place in which we want our staff to be able to enjoy working – because if it weren’t for their motivation and continued hard work, we wouldn’t be able to achieve the many brilliant things we do.
So, to our staff: Thank you – for continuing to work hard for our clients, and helping us to promote the positive and inclusive culture that you enjoy today.
If you like what you hear, are highly motivated and would like to join a commercial property consultancy firm that will invest in your future, don’t hesitate to get in touch.
