Our Guildford office was delighted to host an impressive list of influencers from the property world at the recent WSA and 100 Property Club Breakfast seminar held at GLive on May 19th.
Chris Wilmshurst and Jane Terry from our planning team presented issues surrounding the Local Plan for Waverley and Guildford Borough Council, the future of housing and, most importantly, where it will go and what the time frame will be. They will reviewed some of the government’s proposed changes to the planning system to speed up the delivery of new developments.
Councillor Paul Spooner – the leader of Guildford Borough Council addressed the audience and showed a video highlighting the need for more affordable housing in Guildford and the surrounding areas.
Councillor Matt Furniss – the lead Councillor for Infrastructure and Governance added comments about the need to really address the road infrastructure issues in Guildford (particularly focussing on the A3) before finalising future Town Centre regeneration.
The session finished with a panel discussion and Q and A hosted by James Lacey from Vail Williams and including Vail Williams Managing Partner Matthew Samuel-Camps.
