Property consultancy Vail Williams was instructed to source and secure sites on behalf of the long-established supplier of materials, tools and accessories.
Founded in 1948 on The Wirral as Bromborough Paints, the business broadened its scope to a national operation in 2015 with the purchase of e-commerce website Trade 1st.
Following a rebrand to PaintWell late last year, the company has continued to grow and now has 20 stores across the North West, Yorkshire and Midlands, making it the largest independent decorator merchant in the region.
Commercial Director Dan Peacock said: “We are very much on an acquisition drive as we seek to open more stores this year and strongly increase our presence in the retail warehouse park market.
“The name PaintWell is synonymous with the quality products from top brands we supply online and in our retail stores, a real one-stop with our renowned comprehensive customer support on top.
“We instructed Vail Williams to locate suitable trade counter premises and we have been extremely pleased with the work carried out and continuing to be done on our behalf.”
Already open are new stores in Clifton Moor, York (4,777 sq ft) and Teal Trade Park, Nottingham (3,800 sq ft) with a further property acquired in Ashton Road, Bredbury, near Stockport (4,000 sq ft).
Vail Williams is also handling ongoing deals for premises in Long Eaton, Derby, Macclesfield, Harrogate and Kidderminster.
Vail Williams Birmingham-based Associate Charlotte Fullard, Surveyor Oliver Muscutt and Regional Managing Partner Carole Taylor have been working on the search.
Charlotte said: “We are gratified to have been selected by PaintWell to conduct this work. It has been a real team effort to source these premises.
“Our work on acquisitions is far from over and we continue to seek opportunities to locate premises for PaintWell nationally, although we are focusing on the Midlands/North East/North West currently.”
