Challenge

Littlehampton is a small but busy port that caters for active yachting, sport fishing and commercial fishing as well as larger commercial traffic.

We were appointed by the Board of Littlehampton Harbour, located at the mouth of the River Arun between Chichester and Worthing, to provide strategic property advice regarding their property interests along the banks of the River Arun.

Littlehampton Harbour Board owns a variety of property assets and required an appraisal to demonstrate how development and access alterations could increase the value of their estate, together with ongoing advice on rent reviews and lease terms on their existing property.

How we helped
  • Undertook valuation of properties within the harbour, considering the mix of yard, workshop and wharf accommodation the Board holds
  • Supplied building consultancy expertise regarding riverside construction
  • Assessed land for development viability
  • Provided client with a range of potential expansion options
  • Provided lease advisory expertise and rental valuations to enable the Board to maximise income and assist in estate management.
  • Provided marketing advice to secure a new tenant for the Board on one of their yard sites.
Results
  • Through our knowledge and sector expertise, we provided the client with detailed advice, in-depth market analysis and valuation appraisals.
  • Enabled client to make informed decisions about the use and management of the estate, maximising value whilst minimising potential risks.
  • Subsequently retained to provide ongoing estate management and leasehold advisory capacity.
