Sophia Piatto
Planner
PlanningLondon
––Sophia joined Vail Williams as a planner based in our London planning team in 2024.
Prior to this, Sophia was studying for her BSc in Real Estate and spent a year at Vail Williams working full-time as part of her studies in 2022. In 2023, Sophia returned to her studies, but chose to work part-time at Vail Williams alongside this, to broaden her practical property experience.
In 2024, she graduated from the University of Reading with a BSc in Real Estate and decided to join us full-time. Sophia is based in our planning department, supporting the team with the formulation of planning applications and preparation of relevant planning documents and reports.
She has worked on both public and private sector projects across a variety of different development proposals. Her experience covers various stages of the development process – from early-stage planning appraisals and the pre-application stage, to application submission, post-submission application monitoring, and post-decision amendments as well as discharge of condition applications.
Although in the early stages of her career, Sophia has gained a great deal of work experience with various property consultancies and developers. Being able to see things from both a developer and consultant perspective provides her with a unique approach to planning consultancy.
Sophia is currently enrolled at the University of Westminster studying for an MA in Urban and Regional Planning through the RTPI Professional Apprenticeship scheme. This means she is once again working and studying simultaneously.
However, in what spare time she does have, Sophia is an inconsistent gym-goer and an avid music enjoyer. She enjoys watching random documentaries, socialising with friends and family, and attending music events.
