––Gary is a Fellow of RICS, having qualified in 1992, and is a member of the RICS President’s Panel of Experts.
He is regularly appointed by the RICS President to determine valuation disputes, particularly on residential and commercial development matters. He undertakes a mixed project caseload, principally in the south of England, of:
- Residential land disposals.
- Dispute resolution as an Independent Expert, typically for the determination of land value under Option Agreements and in overage disputes.
- Expert Witness evidence, particularly in residential and commercial development matters.
- Financial viability assessments for Planning purposes.
- Development consultancy.
Gary is a member of the Vail Williams Executive Board, and is involved in setting the strategic direction of the business.
He joined Vail Williams in June 2018, upon the firm’s merger with Hughes Ellard where he was Managing Director.
Gary served as Regional Managing Partner for the South Coast region until June 2022. Prior to joining Hughes Ellard in 1995, he worked in London and Austria for Healey & Baker (now Cushman and Wakefield).
Gary was a founding director of Solent Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) and served as Chairman from 2013-2020. In this role, he was at the forefront of the regional economic development agenda and negotiated Solent’s £150m Growth Deal with government. He has also served as President of Hampshire Chamber of Commerce.
