Chris Davies

Chris is a partner in our Southampton-based building consultancy team.

He has 30 years’ experience as a Chartered building surveyor and specialises in the provision of building and project consultancy services, and heads up the building consultancy team across our South Coast offices, including Bournemouth, Southampton and Portsmouth.

Previously employed by Vail Williams between 2019 and 2023, he re-joined the firm from Mace Limited in 2025.

Chris advises a range of corporate and private clients across all aspects of commercial building surveying and project delivery.

He represents landlords, tenants, investors and developers and also has experience working with public sector clients including local and central government and higher education.

The most important attribute when advising clients is to provide honest straight forward advice in a timely manner, which helps to build trusted relationships.

Chris has also worked as a project manager on several multi-million-pound commercial schemes in the UK and overseas, ranging from the refurbishment of heritage buildings to the new build of commercial and industrial buildings.

His experience in growing and managing building surveying teams has not only provided a great sense of achievement and satisfaction over the years, but has also allowed him to support those entering into the profession.

Outside of work Chris is a keen mountain biker and enjoys playing tennis, doing Pilates and visiting new places.
