––James joined Vail Williams in 2022 as a Senior Surveyor, having previously worked for the Valuation Office Agency (VOA) for over 5 years.
During this time James gained experience in both the VOA’s rating and valuation departments where he worked for public sector clients.
James is experienced in valuation for both commercial and residential property, where he is adept at carrying out reports for both local taxation and Red Book purposes.
He has also presented at Valuation Tribunals as both an advocate and expert witness, carrying out Red Book reports for secure lending purposes, asset valuations for public sector clients and valuations for inheritance tax (IHT).
James qualified as a RICS Chartered Surveyor in May 2021, having gained his BSc in Real Estate from the University College of Estate Management.
An avid rower, James spends most of his time training at Reading Rowing Club where he competes for their senior men’s squad.
