Brian Miklasz

Brian joined Vail Williams in 2024 from Cushman & Wakefield as an Associate in our business rates advisory team.

He specialises in all aspects of business rates advice and has over 30 years of experience within the world of rating, having begun his career at the Valuation Office Agency (VOA) in 1988, before working for Ruddle Merz and Gerald Eve.

He is experienced in working in both the public and private sector, and has acquired in-depth knowledge of the business rates system and the various reliefs available, which he puts to good use for his clients.

Brian has dealt with a wide range of commercial property types from shops, offices and industrial to roadside retail, fast food outlets, car parks and cemeteries, to name but a few.

He is also experienced at challenging the VOA at Valuation Tribunal Hearings on behalf of clients to achieve the best possible business rates outcome.

In his own time, Brian enjoys gardening, DIY around the home, and is a lifelong Derby County supporter.
