Carl joined Vail Williams in 2022 as Partner and Head of Property Asset Management.

He is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors with over 25 years’ experience in both commercial and residential property sectors.

Carl started his career in residential estate agency, qualifying as a chartered surveyor and moving into client-side mixed portfolio property fund and asset management work, before moving into property management agency work at Aitchison Raffety.

He has knowledge of managing property in the UK and abroad including Ireland and Eastern Europe. Carl’s experience extends to cover every aspect of General Practice Surveying, with the ability to coordinate different specialisms within the surveying industry to achieve solutions to meet clients’ complex requirements.

He advises a wide range of clients including private and charitable trusts, wealthy individuals, corporates, pension property investors, tenant occupiers and developers.

In Carl’s last role, he delivered change within the management team to introduce clearer team role and awareness, implementation of a new management system and a strong quality service to customers. He places a great emphasis on the integrity of every team member, and  is proud that customers trust the team to deliver the required service.

Carl has also created financial models focused on analysing internal rate of return for property investments in Bulgaria, Romania and Turkey as well as asset management work throughout the UK including multi occupied office buildings in excess of 100,000 sq ft.

Outside work, Carl is an enthusiastic landscape photographer and enjoys hiking (the only way to get to some of the photography locations) and regularly goes to the gym.
