––James joined Vail Williams in 1999 and now heads up the firm’s London regional team.
Specialising in planning advice, James advises a range of clients including house builders, corporate clients such as National Express, as well as public sector NHS clients and private developers.
He has particular expertise in providing strategic property advice on the project management of complex planning applications and advises clients on the strategy to achieve value or operational requirements.
James works across a broad spectrum of sectors including commercial, residential, mixed use, health and education across London and the south east, and has been involved with the University of Surrey and the Surrey Research Park since 1999.
Over the last 10 years, James has played an instrumental role in achieving various planning consents on Surrey Research Park in Guildford for Space Satellite Technology Limited, Fitzpatrick Referrals and other users.
He sits on the 100 Property Club Committee, established in 1972 as a unique social and networking organisation for agents, developers, consultants, lawyers and contractors and spread in London and beyond.In addition, he has been a member of the firm’s stakeholder engagement group as the voice of business.
James lives in Guildford but is often in Reading for client work.
